Biography
Early life
Baneel Agokra was born on 26-9 18 TT in Oksken into a mixed Karinian-Weer family. He spent much of his early life living in both Oksken and Manser. From a young age he observed the poverty of the people of Oksken compared to those of Manser. He blamed their poverty on the fact that Oksken was ruled as the personal property of the Oken, whilst Manser was ruled by the democratically elected Oceanic Council.
As an adult, Baneel chose to settle down in Oksken. Though his Weer ancestry permitted him to live in the Weer Kadrike he wanted to remain close to his Karinian relatives who were not afforded that luxury.
Sarkism
On 9-12 12 PC Akarian author, Sarkay Obat published a book advocating for the abolition of the osslettes and the purging of the Thessda Range of all Andu. Baneel knew very little about how the osslettes functioned and only knew that the one the covered Oksken –Okenate– hadn't been good since Havking Oken took over and was wholly opposed to the purging of the Thesda Range. However, the book's status as an essential anti-Akarian government work led Baneel to keep track of its author. Sarkay published a second book on 10-10 15 PC, which advocated for reform of Akaria's foreign policy, advocating for the dissolution of the foreign zones. Baneel agreed with this point mostly because it would allow the rest of Akaria to learn about the poverty in Oksken. Baneel attended Sarkay's conference of intellectuals on 2-1 16 PC. At said conference, Baneel became convinced that Sarkay's idea that there were only really two ethnic groups should be used to bring an end to the Kadrikes of Akaria and to implement a worldwide democratic system. On 12-5 16 PC, Sarkay made Baneel a member of his newly created Sarkist Assembly.
Baneel started a pro-democratic protest in Oksken on 3-2 18 PC, by the next day the protest had turned violent with no signs of slowing down. The Oksken Governing Council called a session to discuss the Sarkist protest on 11-2. The next day the Oksken Governing Council agreed to implement democracy in Oksken and to partition Oksken. Baneel told his fellow protesters to not stop what they were doing until the democratic system had been implemented. The city of Oksken was split into Moss Vale, Port Naikar, Haratum and Oksken on 28-2 18 PC, with the city of Oksken –where democracy would be implemented– being left with 47 small disconnected pieces of the city. Baneel was elected onto the new Oksken Governing Council on 30-2 18 PC, the protests died down shortly afterwards. Whilst on the council Baneel was critical of the Oken over the partition of Oksken.
Baneel got in a debate with fellow Sarkist Assembly member Barhobok Samatan on 12-4 20 PC. Baneel argued that there was some inherent value within cultural diversity, whilst Barhobok claimed that there was none and cited various negative ethnic stereotypes.
Baneel was not in the Sarkist State on 24-4 21 PC when the Perat Navy landed forces on Paradise Island, initiating the Battle of Paradise Island. Sarkay was killed on 26-4 when the Perat forces stormed the House of Order and captured the last of the island, imprisoning all the Sarkists there.
Baneel and fellow Sarkist Assembly member Garn Shern met Anhal'pso of the Democracy of Hangmeng and Rak-Dal of the SLK on the night of 30-12 23 PC at the Rancid Haddock in Port Mal, Tietero. A deal was made between the Sarkists and Anhal'pso sometime after midnight. Anhal'pso agreed to pick up Sarkists in Akaria and send them to the Eastern Ocean in exchange for their cars, and the promise that Baneel Agokra would see to freeing Central Democrats of Hangmeng members from the ASF prison fortress.
