Biography

Early life

Dakarkon Deram was born in Durantum during the reign of Temur Bokok and Dar. At the time of his birth, Dakarkon's grandfather Vanakar Deram was Leader of the Deram. As the man had many children it was assumed that leadership of the Deram would never fall on Dakarkon. From an early age, Dakarkon was trained as a soldier and eventually joined the Living Army.

Goghon's War

When war with the Andu Kur broke out on 25-7 1425 TT Dakarkon was high within the ranks of the Living Army. Dakarkon's forces were placed under the authority of Sayaph Lakar, who came to consider Dakarkon to be one of his most skilled officers.

Sayaph became Living King on 19-4 1422 TT and retired to his "front-line capital" of Brinor. He put Dakarkon in control of the Living Army. During the war, Dakarkon won many victories for Akaria, as he did this his fame throughout Akaria increased. By the time the war ended in 1419 TT, he was one of the most respected figures in the country.

On 15-1 1419 TT, just outside Brinor, Dakarkon received word on Sayaph's death. He entered the Brinor Hall and declared himself Living King. The forces with him and the Karinian population of Brinor were thrilled by this turn of events. It is recorded that the town celebrated non-stop for eleven nights.

Living King

Dakarkon did not have time for any of the celebrations as Ablesken did not yet recognise him as Living King. On 16-1 1419 TT, whilst still in Brinor he issued his 1st dictate, establishing the Mikare as a Kadrike. Later that evening he left for Ablesken and dispatched messengers to announce his ascension to the Kadrikes. Following Goghon Perat's death and the ascension of Sayaph the Bar Perikat failed to select their next candidate for Living King. Many who received the messages supported Dakarkon's claim so that they would avoid a civil war. By the time he reached Ablesken on 19-1, 1419 TT the majority of Akaria recognised him as Living King.

Dakarkon's perikat came to be known as the 2nd Durantum Perikat. The Mikare had joined it upon its creation. Despite a Deram being the founder of the perikat, the Deram only joined on 24-1 1419 TT. Dakarkon's 4th Dictate was issued on 11-1 1413 TT to persuade both the Banokan and Garvak to join.

Dakarkon died on 25-11 1377 TT.
