The Kingdom of Esiga is a monarchy in northeast Casea. It used to be a state of the Caseic Federation, but left during the First Great Attu War, and joined the Greater Nayela Union. It later left the Greater Nayela Union.
History
Pre-Calming
The Kingdom of Esiga was founded on 30-8 284 TT (Caseic Calendar: 282-0-12) as the largest remnant of the collapsing Chacya Kingdom (the others being Abayea, Brenjia, and the Second Nayela Union). On 7-3 271 TT (294-Y-10), a war began within the Kingdom of Esiga, as a result of a prince named Bain Frut declaring the province of Baina to be an independent kingdom. On 23-9 268 TT (298-6-17), the war ended, with Baina becoming an independent kingdom. Bain Frut died on 11-6 267 TT (299-3-05), and was succeeded by Bain Prac. Bain Prac was unpopular, leading to the rise of the Bainachi movement (literally the "anti-Bain" movement), which had some support from Alesig II, the second king of Esiga. On 4-8 262 TT (304-6-22), Bain Prac was killed in the Bainachi revolution, and the state was renamed Bainachia. It became a council-ruled republic, with a president chosen by an elected legislative council of 189.
In 215 TT, Alesig II died, and had two legitimate successors due to a clerical error: Inswem I of Grichi and Fesa Jari of Chomfi. This lead to a year of chaos within Esiga, with the nobility supporting Inswem I while popular movements and Bainachia supporting Fesa Jari. In 214 TT, Inswem I was named the more legitimate successor by the Esiga nobility, who exiled Fesa Jari to the Second Nayela Union.
In 201 TT, Inswem I died, and was succeeded by Inswem II. Inswem II spent most of Esiga's resources to the development of roads and infrastructure, and also began the industrialisation of Esiga in response to competition from Jasfeya.
The Kingdom of Esiga was the last state to join the Caseic Federation, doing so on 18-4 49 TT (522-8-24). This was because the previous monarch, Hila III was staunchly against the concept of the Federation, and wanted to maintain Esiga's independence. Hila III died on 24-3 49 TT (522-7-27), and was succeeded by Alesig V, who was approached by Federation officials the day after his coronation. After some negotiations, Esiga joined the Federation as an autonomous state with special rules.
