The Kingdom of Prefichi is a country in the north of Casea, between Jifancaya and the Greater Nayela Union. It used to be the Duchy of Prefichi, a state of the Caseic Federation, but declared independence from the Federation in 26 PC, during the First Great Attu War. Its independence is not recognised by the Federation.
History
Vigintarchy Era
The Duchies of Prefichi and Jifancaya split from the Chacya Kingdom in (Caseic Calendar: 282) as the kingdom collapsed due to its overextension. At the time, both duchies were under a personal union of Prebache IX, and in effect were a single political entity for diplomatic purposes. However, in (297), the Duchy of Prefichi was given to Prebache X, while the Duchy of Jifancaya was given to Asafri III, and the duchies have been separately ruled ever since. During this time, the Duchy of Prefichi had claims on a small part of what is now Brenjia.
War with Jifancaya
In (328), Duke Prebache XII declared war on Jifancaya, claiming that Duke Jifan XI had sent a military force to take the city of Jachin. In this war, the Prefichian forces captured Jeframi in (329), and were able to hold it for several days before being chased out by an angry mob. This war with Jifancaya ended with an abrupt ceasefire in (331) as the Second Nayela Union began to expand into Prefichi.
Second Nayela Union
In (331), the Second Nayela Union expanded northwards into southern Prefichi, taking the city of Wefiche in a matter of days. The duchy surrendered, and became an autonomous province of the Second Nayela Union. In (386), the Duchy declared independence from the Second Nayela Union, in a movement lead by Creten IX known as the Trident Revolution. In (399), the Duchy and the Second Nayela Union agreed on the North Nayela River as the Duchy's southern border and Brenjia Bay as its eastern border.
Independent Duchy
Throughout the next century, the Duchy began to build its economy, and under Creten XI, developed advanced weapons. The Duchy would then sell these advanced weapons to Abayea and Brenjia, and support their proxy wars against the Second Nayela Union. In (450), the Treaty of Grichi was signed, putting an end to proxy wars between Brenjia and the Second Nayela Union. Abayea, Prefichi, and Jifancaya then agreed to allow free trade to counteract the growing power of the Second Nayela Union.
In (469), Abayea, Brenjia, Bainachia, and the Second Nayela Union formed the Greater Nayela Union, and began to impose trade barriers between Abayea and Prefichi, declaring the previous agreement null and void. Jifancaya then turned against Prefichi, and began to organise a separate trade agreement with the G.N.U., which required the construction of a safe trade road on the east coast of Prefichi. Throughout the next few decades, Prefichian officials were known for interfering with trade that occurred via this road. This road would later become a portion of Federal Road GNU3.
On (518-3-03), Prefichi joined the North Casea Economic Zone.
Federation Era
On (521-9-09), the Caseic Economic Zone united under Federal rule, making the Duchy of Prefichi a state of the Caseic Federation.
On 12-8 8 TT, the Duchy began to internally refer to Brenjia Bay as "Inward Bay".
