Utlian Ultra-Nationalism

Utlian Ultra-Nationalism is the movement of Utlian nationhood and superiority.

History

The idea of Utlian Nationalism began before the Unification of Utlia when the ideas were popularized by Frish and Eutan academics who saw the two friendly kingdoms as one group split in two. These academics were fiercely against the idea of incorporating the Tela people of the west, who occupied the remaining city-states in Utlia. One of the key pieces of evidence against the Tela was that they did not discover or commune with Azzta, who is said to have chosen the Utlian peoples as the leaders of the island. This standpoint is the backing behind the Azztan Annexations and following Tela Removal.

After the extermination of the Tela from the island, the movement took a dormant role, with its goals fulfilled until the seas calmed in 1 PC, this led to the discovery of other peoples, not of Utlia. The Azztanist Peoples Association formed in 2 PC to serve as an organization to further nationalist ideas in a now much more expanded world.

Ideas

The primary motivation behind Utlian Ultra-nationalism in the modern, post-calming days revolves around the idea of Utlians as superior due to Azztanist beliefs such as the Light of Azzta, Azztas Protection and Utlians being the chosen peoples of Azzta.

Akuta stance

Upon the discovery of other nations, Utlia quickly began an alliance with the Kingdom of Akaria, this was the first alliance between two members of the archipelago, as Utlia would need allies to secure its future in the face of enemies such as Niueyjar. While the ultra-national groups of the time considered the alliance a good idea, they did not like the building of Akuta military base, as it was considered "Akarian Scheming"

Merriyem stance

The general stance amongst Ultra-nationalists around Merriyem has changed overtime, with pre-unification supporters calling for their extermination. Overtime the majority opinion on the group has shifted to one of kinship, this was especially helped by the introduction of other races after the calming of the storm.

Symbolism

Utlian Ultra-nationalists use many symbols to express or identify their support of the cause.

The flag commonly associated with these groups, usually the APA is one featuring the deity Azzta with the rising sun behind him and The Deep below him.

Groups

The primary group advocating for Utlian Ultra-Nationalism is the Azztanist Peoples Association, a group with chapters in every major city on the island of Utlia and one in Liaia. While the APA is the largest organization adjacent to the ideas, many smaller groups and gangs exist, most notably in the Capital Region and Tinlea-Ut.
