History

Joining the Akarinian Confederation

During Aket's reign as the Leader of the Akarinian Confederation the Bojin, Dakon, Ikane, Skrake and Uvuk had come together to form the Saekarinian Confederation to oppose the Akarinian Confederation, which they saw as ideologically opposed to the tradditional Karianian faith. On 7-2 1720 TT, the Saekarinians, led by the Uvuk attacked the Kakay starting the Saekarinian War (1720–1716 TT). The Ikane joined the Akarinian Confederation on 29-8 1720 TT, becoming the first of the Saekarinian drikes to defect. They did so on the condition that they would have all the women born by Leader of the Akarinian Confederation Gotiph's wife Malain.

Akarinian-Weer War and the ascension of Ekank

When they joined the Akarinian Confederation the Ikane and Skrake both had territorial disputes with the neighbouring Weer Nation. During Gotiph's reign neither dared to enter into open conflict with the Weer, but after his death they became bolder partaking in frequent border skirmishes with the Weer. These skirmishes got larger and bolder up until 24-3 1682 TT when the Ikane raided and razed the Weer village of Maisas. A week later the Weer Army entered the confederation and occupied a sizeable section of land in the border area. Leader of the Akarinian Confederation, Wayok, moved against the Weer Nation in 1683 TT beginning the Akarinian-Weer War (1683–1681 TT).

Wayok died on 3-8 1680 TT and was succeeded as the Leader of the Akarinian Confederation by his son Ukat. Sometime after Ekank of the Deram began claiming to have spoken to Kadar, Aket, Gotiph and Wayok in his dreams, who conferred on him the right to guide the Karinians and began plotting to take control of the confederation. By late 1678 TT Ekank and Dorvat of the Bokok had recruited the Dar, Ikane, Kakay, Perat and Skrake to their cause. On 15-10 1678 TT their armies arrived at Ablesken and met little resistance as they surrounded the Tumak Ordok. Once in the ordo,k Ukat stepped down as the Leader of the Akarinian Confederation. Before the leaders of the seven allied drikes and Ukat, Ekank declared that he was the King in Green, ordered to rule over the Green Pool by order of the Kings in Brown and supported in the Green Pool by the Kadrikes who descend from Kadar, the first Living King. This was the first known mention of "King in Green", "Kings in Brown", "Living King" and "Kadrike".

Entry into the 1st Durantum Perikat

Karkon Deram became Living King on 17-2 1604 TT. He wanted the Akarinian Confederation to have their own standing army and to make such an army he needed funding. A deal was made between Karkon and the Dar, Ikane, Kakay, Perat and Skrake they would allow their people to be taxed and in exchange, they as a group would decide on the next Living King. On 19-9 1602 TT Karkon Deram issued Karkon's 5th Dictate which began taxing members of his perikat.

The 1st Durantum Perikat ended in 1471 TT when Temur Bokok and Dar became Living King.

Rise of the Arkara

The Ikane, along with the Dakon, Kakay and Skrake supported the Arkara movement and helped to protect some of the Arkara's members whilst they were persecuted by the 4th Durantum Perikat.

The Ikane, Dakon, Kakay and Skrake formed the pro-Arkara 1st Agrada Perikat on 3-2 708 TT, though the Ikane did not have the chance to field a Living King as in 602 TT the Ikane's candidate lost out to the Deram's during the 21st Living Election, beginning the 5th Durantum Perikat.

The Ikane fought against the Deram and their allies during the Able War (594–591 TT) and after forming the 2nd Agrada Perikat, this time with the Arkara who were now a Kadrike.

Gonchidor Ikane was elected Living King on 24-9 579 TT. He was killed by Bolakh Deram on 25-8 564 TT as revenge for his father, Living King Arikarin Deram whose death had brought an end to the Able War. Gonchidor's successor Ochi Skrake asked the Deram hand over Bolakh Deram to be tried for his crimes. The Leader of the Deram, Fanachar Deram refused to hand Bolakh over claiming that no crime had been committed under Deram Law. After attempting to use the Enforcers of Living Law to arrest Bolakh the armies of the Arkara, Dakon, Ikane, Kakay and Skrake entered and occupied the Deram Kadrike and began massacring members of the Deram and people affiliated with the Deram in what is now known as the Purification of Able. Despite many prominent Deram being killed during the massacre both Bolakh and Fanachar managed to escape and retreated to the outpost of Dokraim.

The 2nd Agrada Perikat ended with the election of Klaichandoi Lakar as Living King and the start of the 1st Lasken Perikat in 460 TT.

3rd Agrada Perikat

Bantu Arkara was elected Living King on 15-3 143 TT, forming the 3rd Agrada Perikat, which included the Ikane.

Alghui Ikane was elected Living King on 16-5 101 TT. Alghui issued his 3rd Dictate on 5-9 84 TT, granting the Oceanic Council the funds to establish the Weer Biological Warfare Division (WBWD) and designated the Utlian locust, which had arrived in Akaria in or just before 84 TT as a target for the WBWD to attempt to eradicate. Algui died in 72 TT, two years before the locusts were eradicated.

False War

The Ikane, along with the Kakay supported the Arkara and were behind many assassinations of their rivals. The False War ended on 14-7 4 TT with Living King Bantar Arkara's death and the end of the 3rd Agrada Perikat. After the war Leader of the Ikane, Ulatak Ikane began reconsidering the Ikane's stance as allies of the Arkara.
