Bokok
The Bokok are one of the Kadrikes of Akaria.
History
Early history
Little is known about the early history of the Bokok.
War with the Andu Kur
On 30-10, 1795 TT Kadar announced to both the Arkaran and the Amarkan which he led that he had travelled to the Isle of Mirrors and discovered that their gods were nothing more than powerful spirits and that that he fought with the King of the Spirits and ate him giving him a vision of the future that would allow him and his forces to drive back the Andu Kur during their next large scale attack.
The Bokok joined forces with the Kadar's forces on 16-8 1793 TT.
The Andu Kur invaded Kadar's forces on 26-4 1791 TT.
On 11-7, 1787 TT Kadar's forces routed what was left of the Andu Kur and captured the Andu city of Kanda. Kadar and the leaders of his allies remained at the ruins of the city for ten days. On that tenth day when no Andu forces arrived, they declared the war over and began discussing what to do next. Three days after that on 24-7 1787 TT they established the Akarinian Confederation with Kadar as its first leader. From that point on the Bokok worked from within the Akarinian Confederation.
Marauder Crisis and 1st Bar Perikat
In 1496 TT, during the Marauder Crisis, a member of the Bokok named Temur Bokok joined up with the Komur Feyak. Temur became the leader of the feyak on 24-12 1474 TT, following Komur Lakar's retirement. On 1-5, 1473 TT the Komur Feyak took control of Lasken, overthrew the Leader of the Lakar, Okal Lakar and replaced him with Komur's son Bekar. On 16-5 of the same year, the Komur Feyak seized Bar. On 26-5 1473, before an invasion of the Garvak could be carried out Matok Garvak pledged his allegiance to the Komur Feyok and sent a large portion of his army to join them.
By 1473 TT the current Living King, Bark Dar, had little to no real power though the post still held religious significance. During this year, Temur Bokok, set out to establish himself as Living King. He began this quest by marrying a granddaughter of Living King so that he might have a reason to challenge him to a duel under the right of blood. Next, he rounded up the ossbosches of the Lakar, Dar and Garvak who would be able to name him Living King. On 28-9, 1471 TT his forces advanced into the Deram lands and reached the Tumak Ordok on 7-10 1471 TT. Temur confronted Living King Bark Dar in the Tumak Ordok and challenged him for his leadership of the Dar under the right of blood. As the challenge was not made during a leadership change Bark was not bound by tradition to accept it. However, the vast army surrounding the ordok compelled him to accept the challenge. Temur easily defeated and killed the elderly Dar and declared himself Leader of the Dar as Temur Bokok and Dar. Shortly after the three ossbosches with him declared him Living King.
Temur then began putting together the 1st Bar Parikat, which included the Bokok, Dar, Lakar and Perat.
On 17-4 1468 TT, Temur Bokok and Dar issued his 1st Dictate merging the Komur Feyak into the Living Army. Following the merger, a campaign against the feyaks began, known as the Temur's March. By 1450 TT it had become apparent that Temur's March had not been as effective as Temur had hoped as many of the feyaks were still at large. On 30-6 1450 TT Temur assembled the leaders of the Kadrikes and representatives from the Weer Nation in Ablesken. On 11-7 1450 TT with the support of the various assembled people he issued Temur's 6th Dictate. The dictate established a nationwide tax dedicated to maintaining the Living Army. Payment of the tax could be opted out of if the corresponding Kadrike maintained their own armed forces. This brought a gradual end to the Marauder Crisis.
The 1st Bar Perikat ended on 15-1 1419 TT with Dakarkon Deram's ascension and the start of the 2nd Durantum Perikat.
Pitball
Amkar Bokok was elected Living King on 21-8 1172 TT starting the 1st Bosken Perikat. During his reign he popularised pitball.
The 1st Bosken Perikat ended on 6-5 1103 TT with the election of Umanay Deram and the start of the 3rd Durantum Perikat.
Plot against Umanay Deram
Following the election of Umanay, Leader of the Bokok, Tobutai Bokok and Leader of the Lakar, Boikokok Lakar began plotting to kill him as they feared that he would replace the Kadrike-based ossbosches with new ossbosches based around population centres.
On 10-9, 1099 TT whilst addressing a crowd in Wayok Park, an assassin fired at Umanay with a handheld omtarre cannon. The primary fire stream missed Umanay and soon engulfed the raised platform Umanay had been speaking from. Umanay escaped unharmed
An investigation into the identity of the assassin began immediately. However, a suspect could not be found due to a lack of physical evidence and witness discrepancies. On 27-9 1098 TT whilst attending a dinner in Todak, Parikok Lakar told Umanay that his brother Boikokok, Leader of the Lakar had ordered his death. Umanay ordered the Combkar Tower searched and found a barrel containing omtarre residue with the same composition as residue found in Wayok Park. Boikokok Lakar was arrested on 12-10 1098 TT and executed the following day. Parikok replaced his brother as the Leader of the Lakar
Tobutai, Leader of the Bokok condemned the execution claiming that Parikok and Umanay had framed Boikokok for the attack. Umanay took no action against Tobutai over this claim despite several of his advisors including his brother Hekur recommending it.
On 18-2 1096 TT whilst walking to his carriage Umanay was ambushed by an assassin whom Umanay managed to subdue. At the same time, Parikot Lakar was thrown to his death from the top of the Combkar Tower. The man who attacked Umanay was revealed to have been Otok Bokok, son of Tobutai, who was subsequently arrested. Both Otok and Tobutai were executed on 28-2 1096 TT. A likely apocryphal story claims that Umanay spoke to Tobutai moments before his execution. He told Umanay that he wanted him dead because he thought that he would create one ossbosche for one major populated area as his great-great-grandfather Hortank had proposed. On 19-4, 1096 TT Umanay issued his 19th Dictate dissolving the previous Kadrike-based ossbosches and creating new ossbosches based around population centres.
4th Durantum Perikat
Dakoph Perat was elected Living King on 16-10 952 TT forming the 4th Durantum Perikat, which contained the Bokok, Deram and Perat.
Karaskar Bokok was elected Living King on 21-5 878 TT. During his reign, the Arkara movement had begun gaining traction under the leadership of Daroi Arkara. Karaskar's 1st Dictate was issued on 27-3 874 TT "barring any individual from falsely claiming to be a descendent of Kadar." with Daroi Arkara being arrested for violating the dictate on 24-4 874 TT. He was released after he proved that his mother was the granddaughter of 29th Living King, Taurbui Deram.
Living King, Sorkak Bokok was elected on 16-6 759 TT. He died on 6-12 707 TT triggering the 18th Living Election which would see the 4th Durantum Perikat replaced with the 1st Agrada Perikat.
Able War
During the reign of Khurel Kakay, the former members of the 4th Durantum Perikat created a new alliance between themselves, the Dar, Garvak and Lakar. Khurel's death on 15-2 602 TT triggered the 21st Living Election where, on 18-3 Arikarin Deram was elected Living King, establishing the 5th Durantum Perikat.
The Ossbosche of East Ablem Amarkil Arkara was removed from his post by the Living Army on 21-8 594 TT. Amarkil wrote to his second cousin and Ossbosche of Saekraim, Makaro Arkara to help him get his position back. Makaro contacted other members of the Arkara and the former members of the 1st Agrada Perikat who began preparing their forces for war. On 29-10, 594 TT the forces of the Anti-Durantum League set off for East Able beginning the Able War, which the Bokok participated in in the defence of Arikarin.
During the war, Arikarin issued more dictates than any other Living King before or since with the number of dictates issued at the time of his death coming to seven-hundred-twelve. On 1-7 593 TT Arikarin's 481st Dictate was issued. The dictate ordered all kadrike armies to become subservient to the Living Army, this change angered Arikarin's allies, including the Bokok leading to them defecting to the League.
The League breached the Tumak Ordok on 26-2 591 TT. During the battle for the ordok, Arikarin was killed with his remaining forces surrendering soon after. The League used Arikarin's body to issue three dictates in the dead hand; Arikarin's 713th Dictate nullified the majority of Arikarin's dictates, Arikarin's 14th Dictate recognized the Arkara as a Kadrike and Arikarin's 715th Dictate established the Ossbosche Assembly and formalised the Council of Akaria.
1st Lasken Perikat
Klaichandoi Lakar was elected Living King on 16-8 460 TT, starting the 1st Lasken Perikat composed of the Banokan, Bokok, Dar, and Lakar.
The 1st Lasken Perikat ended on 15-3 143 TT with the election of Bantu Arkara and the start of the 3rd Agrada Perikat.
Bokok Succession Crisis of 15 TT and False War
The young Leader of the Bokok, Borokar Bokok, was assassinated by the Arkara on 5-7 15 PC beginning the Bokok Succession Crisis of 15 TT. Following the assassination, Borokar's great-uncle Bagot Bokok became Leader of the Bokok. Bagot was accused of being behind the assassination and on 18-10 Tratoi Bokok, High Director of the Bokok Army arrested Bagot, revoked his leadership and made himself Leader of the Bokok.
The Tyshok Report was released on 9-12 10 TT connecting members of the Arkara to several high-profile deaths across Akaria, including Bagot Bokok. Living King, Bantar Arkara's refusal to condemn those listed in the report led to the False War. On 14-12 Tratoi had Bagot released from prison. and resigned as Leader of the Bokok in favour of Bagot. Under Bagot the Bokok actively participated in the False War, assassinating many Arkara, Kakay and Ikane.
The war ended on 14-7 4 TT with Bantar Arkara's death.
1st Osken Perikat
The Bokok joined the 1st Osken Perikat following the Arkara Uprising of 3 PC when it became apparent that Living King, Harakar Oken was at odds with the Arkara.
The Bokok joined the Akarian Civil War on 23-4 19 PC when the Bokok Army entered the Arkara Kadrike with the intent of aiding Harakar Oken and his allies. Omarok Bokok, Leader of the Bokok said of the incursion "The Arkara are threatening the very survival of Akaria". The Bokok Army was present at the Battle of the Banokan Kadrike in which Harakar's allies defeated the forces of the Arkara and their allies, the day before the death of Harakar on 29-12 19 PC.
