Lytin Shwyn

From Attu Project

Lytin Shwyn is a Field General in the Utlian Militarys National Force. He is the most decorated member of the military that is presently alive.

Early life

Lytin was born on 12-3 4 PC in Kelna-Ut to the former noble family Shwyn, his parents being renowned writer Treyen Shwyn and his wife, the artist Ley Ures. He was noted by his parents to be a very uninspired child, with little passion or enjoyment for most tasks, this led to him being sent to a psychiatrist until he was a teenager. During this time he found that he had an interest for stories of explorers, discovering things nobody had seen before and proudly displaying their finds. His favorite series was the Adventures of Nyis, partly due to the fact that the series was based on his ancestor Isyen Shwyn and his disappearance into the storm.

As a teenager Lytin ran away, catching a train to Mersen in 20 PC, it was here he discovered a second passion, alcohol. He became infatuated with the special ways the Merriyem brewed their variety of alcoholic beverages. He began working in a distillery in late 20 PC, where he remained for a year before being found and taken home to Kelna.

After being returned home, he decided to join the military, when questioned by his parents he stated that he wanted to see what wonders the storms were hiding from Utlia.

Military service

Lytin joined the Utlian National Force in early 22 PC, during his signup he initially requested placement in the Bog of War lyet, as he wanted to see Akaria, but his request was denied due to lack of experience. He spent the rest of 22 PC in the Akuta military base. In 23 PC the Nongban Civil War began and Lytin was selected to be a part of the experimental Fire Brigade lyet, giving him a emberwelder and its associated backpack, this lyet was sent to help the TLP in occupying eastern Nongba.

Lytin himself was a part of the Akuta push north into Hongtongula and the following battle of Hongtongula. During this battle, the majority of the Fire Brigade was killed in action, the most devastating blow to the lyet being a small explosion that hit many of the combustible packs members of the brigade wore, causing many soldiers to catchfire themselves. Lytin was spared from this due to having spent all the fuel he had stored in his pack. For his survival of this event, he was awarded the Deep Reflector medal by Areen Leshen.

After this, he spent some time in a TLP-Akuta hospital south of the city. After being discharged he returned to Hongtongula, the battle now over, and began to scavenge for "artifacts" in the rubble. Eventually joined by a fellow survivor of the Fire Brigade mass death. Eventually the two began walking south, to join an advance into southern Nongba. While in the southern edge of Hongtongula the two were ambushed by a group of DHM soldiers also fleeing from the city, Lytin was able to escape and was given a second Deep Reflector medal after returning home. Lytin spent 3 days alone outside of Akuta controlled land, eventually stumbling upon a TLP outpost. For his survival feats he was given the Light of Willpower medal upon returning home.

Following his time on Nongba, he spent some time in eee before joining the First Great Attu War in 26 PC, where he was a part of the ground invasion during the Battle of Brenji, during this he was pushed into a ditch, landing on a rock, breaking part of his hand in the process. After getting up he lied and said he was fine, continuing to fight in the battle.

After the Great War he spent time in the newly acquired protectorate of Brenji, collecting more "artifacts" while helping to rebuild.

By this point in his career, he had been promoted to Field General and denied higher promotion due to wanting to see combat his entire career. In 44 PC he was sent on special assignment to Ronatana for peacekeeping, he was selected due to his knowledge of Nongba and experience in conflict. During this he and his new lyet, The Ember, named after the now defunct fire brigade began to occupy a large amount of land on the island, eventually reaching the capital and crossing paths with a Deysachini platoon, also there for peacekeeping, both groups trying to find Edward.

Personal life

Lytin does not have a wife or any children and chooses to spend most of his time away from mainland Utlia. After the nongban civil war he had a home built in Kelna-Ut with a wing dedicated to his treasures and artifacts. His collection is large and includes many historical and personal belongings he has found in warzones.

Politics

Lytin considers himself a Light of Azzta traditionalist. This ideology was made up by him during his time in eee, it follows the idea that Utlian and Merriyem people are superior because of the light of Azzta and the rest of the people groups of the archipelago are in a hierarchy of quality. Lytin is also an ardent supportor of COUR and Ire Liamia.
