Paradise Island

History

The island was first sighted by the Akarian Scouting Force during their 15–16 PC expedition to the Eastern Ocean and was given the designation Islet No. 23.

The island was first visited on 4-8 17 PC when Ratok Omiph's ship was wrecked there whilst en route for Dwarf Island. A ship sent by Sarkay Obat with the intent of rescuing Ratok was wrecked off the island's coast on 22-9.

On 7-8 18 Sarkay announced the creation of the Sarkist State, and claimed the island – which was given the name Paradise – for the new country. He then began promoting moving to the island to his followers.

Harakar's 15th Dictate was issued on 15-8 18 PC in response to the establishment of the Sarkist State. The dictate made it a violation of Living Law to claim to be a Sarkist or to hold Sarkist views. The Ossbosche of Okenate, Havking Oken had several dozen Sarkists arrested, including four members of the Sarkist Assembly arrested under the new dictate on 21-10. The next day a group of Sarkists stormed and took control of the Haratum Judgementhouse, where the arrested Sarkists were being tried. On 27-10, Havking attempted to regain control of the judgementhouse leading to a gunfight between the Sarkists and the Okenate authorities. An agreement was reached on 3-11, in which the Sarkists would leave the judgementhouse and Havking would have them shipped to the Sarkist State. The Ossbosche of Okenate ended up deporting 137 self-proclaimed Sarkists to Paradise on 13-1 19 PC.

The Perat Navy landed forces on the island on 24-4 21 PC in an attempt to capture the Sarkists living there and to secure control of the island, initiating the Battle of Paradise Island, which concluded two days later with the island under Perat control. On 24-8, the Karinian Star reported that Trikot Perat was using Sarkists as slaves following the capture the island. Forces under tha command of Ahabakar Oken attacked the island on 30-3, cutting off communications between it and Johnakar. An expedition force sent by the Ossbosche of Essalia, Lightning Perat arrived on 1-5 and found the island abandoned, small settlement there destroyed, all the Sarkists gone and Trikot Perat dead. The expedition force was left on the island to secure it.

Geography

The island is flat and grassy.
