Biography
Early life
Lightning Perat was born on 27-6 20 TT, at the time of his birth his great-grandfather Arkerus Perat was the Leader of the Perat.
Lightning's uncle Drotur Perat and both of his sons were killed on 16-7 6 TT during the False War, making Lightning 3rd in line to succeed Arkerus. Arkerus was assassinated on 4-1 5 TT.
Scribe to the Living King
On 27-6 1 PC became the Scribe to the Living King and began serving Living King, Harakar Oken. His appointment was due to being the 2nd in line to the leadership of the Perat and being at least 20 years old. As Scribe to the Living King, Lightning would accompany Harakar on almost all of his foreign engagements to draft up treaties for him.
Between 5-2 7 PC and 1-10 7 PC, Lightning was away from Akaria whilst accompanying Harakar on his Tour of the Isles. On 14-3 7 PC, Harakar and Lightning met with Empress Heidr Gullveigdaughter as a part of the Tour of the Isles. During the meeting Heidr threw Lightning and Harakar into the Dragon's Maw as punishment for the Akarian Massacre. Whilst in the maw, both lost consciousness and awoke some hours later having been pulled out by Heidr's geese.
The Dakota Mine –one of the many mines in Akaria opperated by the Deram– ceased to function on 17-2 8 PC. The next day Harakar began looking to meet with Leader of the Deram, Ara Deram to talk to him about the loss of the mine. Harakar recruited Lightning's grandfather, Leader of the Perat, Storm Perat to help him track down Ara as he knew that the two had entered into an unwritten alliance. Harakar, Storm and Lightning met with Ara on 23-5 8 PC. The meeting went poorly as a bight broke out between the Perat Harakar had brought with and the Deram after Storm called Ara's dead uncle a coward. Ara ended up breaking Storm's pelvis and Lightning broke Ara's jaw. It was only through Harakar's intevention that they all survived the incident.
Lightning accompanied Harakar, President of Utlia, Yyme Braia and Lieutenant President of Utlia, Votan Lainya on a visit to Ronatana on 20-7 9 PC. After arriving on shore the group was ambushed by leader of the Tun'ilhameng Liberation Procedure (TLP), Edward and some other TLP members. Lightning deescalated things and the meeting continued as normal.
Opposition to the Arkara and Ossbosche of Essalia
Storm died on 27-7 15 PC and with his death Lightning moved up the Perat line of succession and ceased to be the Scribe to the Living King, being replaced with his brother Thunder Perat. Lightning was not happy with his father Eltok Perat's policy of friendship with the Arkara and became a vocal opponent of this policy. He doubled down on this opposition after the election of Living King Artak Arkara in 20 PC.
Artak's 6th Dictate was issued on 2-11 20 PC and saw the creation of the Osslette of Essalia in the Eastern Ocean. It also named Lightning as the inaugural Ossbosche of Essalia. Lightning understood that his appointment was done to get him out of Akaria but he nevertheless accepted it and departed for the Eastern Ocean.
The Perat Navy, landed forces on Paradise Island on 24-4 21 PC, with the intent of capturing the Sarkists living there and securing control of the island. The island was fully captured on 26-4. Leader of the Perat, Eltok Perat and Lightning Perat appointed his brother and Lightning's uncle Trikot Perat to serve as the High Director of Paradise Island. Lightning knew this was done to move Trikot out of the way as he did not approve of the Perat's informal alliance with the Arkara much like Lightning's appointment as Ossbosche of Essalia. At the same time Lightning Perat appointed Trikot as the Warden of Paradise Island giving him religious authority over Paradise Island.
Ahabakar Oken was freed from Niueyjar by on 1-1 22 PC by Dakar Oken. Ahabakar attacked Paradise Island on 30-3 with Johnakar losing contact with the island. An expedition force sent by Lightning arrived on 1-5 and found the island abandoned, small settlement there destroyed, all the Sarkists gone and Trikot Perat dead. The expedition force was left on the island to secure it.
On 29-12 22 PC, Lightning Perat survived an assassination attempt carried out by his by his personal guards.
Lightning met with the CEO of the East Confederation Whaling Company, Richard Mobyson on 2-1 23 PC to discuss capturing Ahabakar Oken. The pair decided to estalbish a shipyarnd on Island 74 to allow them to construct their own ships to hunt down Ahabakar without needing to really on Akaria or Niueyjar. Ownership of the island was split 60–40 between the East Confederation Whaling Company and the Ossbosche of Essalia. A treaty was signed between the two with Lightning signing on behalf of the Osslette of Essalita, the Perat and the Kingdom of Akaria.
