Sojourner

From Attu Project

Sojourners are figures in Azztanism who are recognized for exceptionally holy or great act in the name of Utlia. The title was originally reserved for explorers due to the belief that it is the holiest of occupations an Utlian could attain in their life but over time the restrictions on who could be awarded the title have withered. The title is given by the Azz'marin, requiring a majority vote from the Kiyr Committee

History

After the death of Vyren Kiyrn in 1740 he was awarded the title of First Sojourner by the recently established Church of Azzta. The church then decided that Sojourners should embody the ideals of both Kiyrn and Azzta, as judged by the church.

The church then formed a committee to determine who else could be added to the list of Sojourners, the committee decided on 2 of Kiyrns party members during his Azztan expeditions.
