Azzmia Liamia

Azzmia Liamia (born Mal Liamia) was the first Utyr of the second Liamia dynasty and the leader of the Azztan Restoration, which brought the Liamias back into power after a long absence from title of Utyr. She claimed to have visions of Vyren Kiyrn guiding her and the Liamia family as Azztas chosen Dynasty. She was enshrined as a Sojourner by the Kiyr Committee while still alive and is one of three Morsote.

Life

Childhood

Mal Liamia was born in 420 TT to the Liamia family, the first dynasty of Utlia and the family who originally united the island. At the time of Mals' birth however, it had been multiple hundred years since a Liamia had the title of Utyr, the family was also exiled from Tinlea-Ut by Saryc Aremt in 600 TT. As a young child Mal was taken to a doctor in Kelna-Ut who recommended her to be hospitalized, to figure out what was wrong with her. Her concerned parents took the advice and she remained at the hospital for two weeks. During her stay she was diagnosed with multiple hallucinatory disorders and a disease that had ruined her eyesight, making the world appear Kaleidoscopic, this disease was later named Malis disorder. Despite her conditions it is said she excelled at schoolwork, being near the top of her private school class. As a teenager she became obsessed with Azztanism, frequently isolating herself to listen to Mernlak Chalnt, the Liamia house speaker, read books about topics like the Azz'marin and Kiyr Committee. By the time she was 17 she had amassed a collection of over 100 versions of Vyren Kiyrn's Azztanism.

Young-Adulthood

At the age of 18 her parents were both falsely executed for plotting against the Slofyr dynasty. She ran away to Mersen after this incident, where she began to have visions of Vyren Kiyrn, saying she needed to avenge the Liamia name and eliminate the "false Azztanists," the false Azztanists being the Slofyr and Aremt families. Shortly after she started receiving these visions from The Deep, she began a trip to Unlaunen, guided by her horse, also named Vyren. When she arrived she requested council with the recently excommunicated Kiyr Committee, the committee heard her story of visions and proclaimed her to be the savior of the nation. The Committee cited the visions as being brought on by the ongoing False War, which had been disrupting the nation for years at this point. Mal and her horse were sent back to Mersen, to speak to the Merriyem Front. She offered the Merriyem full citizenship and peace in exchange for helping her. Historian say that only once she had the backing of the Mersenites and Azz'marin did the Restoration officially begin in 400 TT.

Azztan Restoration

Many members of the Royal Army defected to the Azztanists side during the war, either for religious reasons or not having faith in the current Utyr to win. Early in the war Mal killed the reigning Slofyr Dynasty Utyr, Heartya in battle, causing his inexperienced brother Werzent to take the title. The restoration officially ended after the Sacking of Tinlea-Ut, where Merriyem and Azztan Loyalists over-ran the capital. During the sacking the Aremt, Slofyr and Lowsie noble families were captured and brought to Mal, who released the Lowsie on account of their very brief Utyr reign being cut short by the Aremt, who along with the present Slofyr family members, were executed by Mals' troops. Shortly after this Werzent Aremt was also executed. After the dissolution of the two dynastic families, Mal took the Utyr throne in 397 TT and changed her name to Azzmia, as she thought it reflected her as the savior of Azztanism, the Liamia family and the Merriyem people.

Utyr rule

Azzmia led a relatively peaceful Utlia, with the help of her many advisors. She was enshrined as a sojourner by the now re-established Kiyr Committee in 396 TT, being the only person to be canonized while still alive. Historians consider the start of the second Liamia dynasty to be the end of the "false years." Azzmia and her court of advisors were heavily influenced by the Kiyr Committee, with some historians claiming the Kiyr Committee was doing most of the advising while her court did little outside of show up to events. Azzmia never married or had children, leading to many arguements between her and members of the noble families who wanted her to wed.

Death

In 337 TT Azzmia was found dead in her study, the death was ruled as natural causes by royal doctors. Because Azzmia had no children the lineage was messy, the Kiyr Committee and royal court decided to hold off on the announcement of death until they had figured out who would become the next Utyr. They eventually decided on Azzmias' nephew Cemry Laimia, Azzmias' death was announced by the Kiyr Committee shortly after. Memorial parades were held in every Utlian city, with the largest parade in Utlian history occuring in the capital Tinlea-Ut.

Legacy

Mal is a common name in modern Utlia due to her, with the most notable Utlian named after her being Mal Ignis, the head of the Utlian military from 6 TT to 41 PC.

Azzmia is considered one of the greatest Utyr by modern Utlians, often placed right below or above Wynlid Liamia. She is also regularly placed high on lists of greatest Utlians in history, alongside people like Lyremen Shote and Swynten Lorkyel.

Azzmia day is a federal holiday celebrated on 3-4 to celebrate the restoration and her as a person.
