Syet-pryen is an ecological classification of life on Utlia for all things that do not come from the archipelago, the primary theory being that it is bacteria that came from the cosmos. In Azztanism the syet-pryen came with Azzta as stragglers on its shell.
Etymology
The term syet-pryen was coined by University of Veryek biologist Hauspyn Lewett. The term comes from the Utyis word for Cosmic or otherworldly, syet, and pryen, the Utyis word for research or scientific progress.
Definition
As of 50 PC, the Pryen division of the Utlian Bureau of Research defines syet-pryen as "All life, life adjacent entities, or life descended from that life, which do not show any clear origin in Utlia or its surrounding landmasses, there is no required relation for individual pryen examples and many show no relation beyond their unclear origin. Many of the most clear examples are also muddled by centuries of intermixing with native life." this is considered the primary definition used by scientists and scholars in greater Utlia.
Azz'marin
On 18-12 5 PC, shortly after discovery of the first syet-pryen cells, the Azz'marin quickly created its own definition of pryen life: "The unfairly redeemed who hid from Azztas light and the otherworldly malice that guided them to our great land." The Kiyr Committee later spoke out against this definition once more research was done into the topic, stating "We have let preconceived notions cloud our judgement of science" during a speech given by Yret Larnt in 20 PC.
Examples
The vast majority of known examples of the phenomenon belong to the Assimilated category, meaning they have spent at-least hundreds of centuries in the Utlian ecosystem, diluting whatever otherworldly characteristics may be present.
Assimilated
Assimilated or native pryen have spent enough time in Utlias ecosystem to become assimilated into it.

Un-assimilated
Unassimilated, or "true" syet-pryen are considered resilient to or unaltered from their original, non-Utlian forms, it is theorized that at one point the majority of syet-pyren were unaltered but went extinct in Utlias harsh microbial and macrobial ecosystems, leaving only the ones that could adapt into it behind. Despite this, some cases of true SP do exist:
