On 1 Nuriit of 52 PC (1-1 Haracalnde), Wlykalt Syenter was elected as president of Utlia, his campaign focused heavily on the stagnation of government under the second iteration of an Ire Liamia-ran COUR, his inflammatory statements and general aggressiveness gained him a reputation as a stoic and calculated thinker, a man who would do what must be done for his nation. Syenters campaign also focused on this aspect of himself, advertisements calling him the "Second Striking of Utlia"[1] The platform ran on by Syenter and his lt president-elect Crymia Mryn was based on a restructuring of government, a reevaluation of government funds and the creation of various social programs for those in rural areas.
Upon taking power however public opinion began to sway, as he continued his behavior and demeanor from his presidential run while mishandling his actions. The first action done by the new COUR administration was the removal of the Azztanist Peoples Association from the Coalition, this move was done hastily, with the oversi and maatyl-cabinet of the group being not being told until they came to work on the morning of 8 Nuriit to find a notice of their eviction posted on the front door of the Braia Building in Tinlea-Ut. This action itself was not controversial, the APA was considered violent and volatile by both Swyl Shote and Ire Liamia, the problem with Syenters purging came from his method, the typical way for things to be decided in COUR is with a vote from each faction within the coalition, Syenter and Myrn found a legal loophole that allowed them to remove party factions if deemed a threat to national security. Other factions in COUR were not alerted of the change till the debrief that morning. This story was quickly spread by radio, television and paper news across Utlia, with headlines such as "Syenter and Myrn prove that ignoring democratic process is simply innate to Utlian blood" and "Syenter unjustly acts on old grudges."[2]

On 12 Nuriit (12-1) 52 PC,Areen Leshen held a meeting with Syenter and Myrn at UND/UNF headquarters, the Shym Building in central Tinlea. Areen has come up with a plan utilizing Syet pryen to power large mechanized suits, the schematics shown were ambitious, the half-machines being between three and five stories tall, requiring a whole new branch of military to open and using at the time only theoretical technology. Areen promised that his research teams could have a prototype out within two years and the technology was completely possible with funding, according to documents recording the meeting, the military Oversi called the invention his "lifes work". The plan was looked at by Syenter, who passed it to Myrn, who then passed it along to general Ikerrsk Het, the three men sent Areen out of the room for a moment. When called back in, he was told that the plan was unrealistic and too costly. Areen, still loyal to the coalition, chose not to to go the presses, instead choosing to simply tell his R&D team de-prioritize the project.
On 38 Nuriit (8-2) Crymia Myrn visited the East Ocean territory to meet with Keleyn Uest, an admiral, fleet captain and head of amphibious investigations in the Utlian Amphibious Forces. Uest, who had been conducting an investigation in the east ocean related to ship dissapearances was told to meet with the Lt. President at the Ice Island Military Base, during the meeting Uests investigatory expeditions were stripped of funding and he himself was placed on military probation, the reasoning given being "misuse of government funds, embezzlement and general incompetency in leadership." Uest was sent home and ships under his stewardship were anchored at Shote-Ut. While this was originally meant to be kept quiet, sailors on the S1-Liamia class Syetkyrn, the head-vessel of Uests fleet, leaked the news to newspapers on the mainland. When news of this broke, a scandal came with it, the Uest expeditions were seen by the public as heroic, selfless journies east into the uncharted.
When word of this scandal reached Field General and Militia Overseer Lytin Shwyn, who previously had been the mentor and commanding officer to a young Keleyn Uest, he barged into the Braia buildings top floor during a private lunch between Syenter and Myrn. According to Myrn and Shwyn, who both gave accounts to press following the incident, Shwyn was not stopped or apprehended due to his rank and status in the Utlian Military, he proceeded to slam his fists down on the table and demand an explanation for the funding being pulled, as well as for why Myrn didnt go through proper military channels to discuss the funding beforehand.

In the meantime, a terrorist group known as Einru had begun gaining traction in the late 40s and early 50s, ran by Aracet Teren, Lumrern Ket and Ureste Oen, the group considered themselves "Braia purists" and "true radicals." Originating in Orena-Ut, the group were primarily being responsible for various bombings and thefts on government buildings. They were relatively unknown outside of mountange until 12-5 51 PC, when they took over a radio tower and associated station in rural mountange, near Mt. Utlia., the attack on the station became known as the Siege of Mt. Utlia and launched the group into national fame, a media whirlwind formed around them, the siege being the deadliest domestic attack on Utlian soil since the first revolution. The groups broadcast was cut almost immediately after the siege but the goals were still accomplished.
In response to this, the Bureau of Internal Affairs placed bounties on Teren, Ket and Oen for a number of crimes. Shortly after they became wanted they published their manifesto in their own illegal magazine Sun and Light Monthly, this manifesto was then picked up in many major newspapers as the groups motive. During the 52 PC snap election, Einru endorsed Areen Leshen as candidate. Syenter used this against Leshen, stating that he was the terrorists choice.
On 7-6 52 PC, Ureste Oen was contacted by a close childhood friend of his, the Lt. President, Myrn gave him an out, Syenter and Myrn were already planning on purging Areen as high director of the Utlian military, all Ureste had to do was reveal all Einru intel and he would be absolved of his crimes. Ureste took the deal, betraying his comrades, his roles in Einru were replaced by Aracet and the Internal affairs Bureau conducted raids on a large number of Einru bases and strongholds.
On 8-1 53 PC it was discovered by the rest of COUR that Areen Leshen had been continuing work on his half-alive machine project, code-named Syetin, this enraged Syenter and Myrn, as punishment Areen and his Syetin R&D team were sent to the East Ocean for exile. It is believed that the Syetin project was only discovered because of spying being done to catch Areen committing an offense, so that he could be formally removed. Ureste Oen replaced Areen and immediately halted all military action in the Luminary war for investigations. this action was unpopular among both Maasyl politicians and Military officials, as it halted Utlian advances in the war and according to Field General Iresyt Woler, "made us look weak"
On 4-2 53 PC another Syenter scandal erupted following the leaking of transcripts from his campaign meetings, in which he calls the House of Light "A waste of resources and everyone's time" and "A mess we should have never gotten involved with" this combined with the presidents recent overturning of a pro-HoL bill led to worries of Syenter pulling out of the alliance, a move that was allegedly considered but decided against due to its intense unpopularity the Utlian people.
On 23-2 53 PC, An Einru attack on a Direnomut armory leaves ten UND soldiers dead and a stockpile of state-of-art weapons and ammo stolen. Syenter did not comment but Ureste and Myrn gave a joint-statement to press honoring the dead soldiers and vowing to avenge all who have fallen by the terrorist groups hands. Einru would release their own statement, calling out Ureste for his side switching and telling Myrn to send himself away on Yekajyu.
On 14-3 53 PC, A schism occurred between the Bureau Council and the presidential faction of COUR when Syenter gave the executive order to restructure a number of smaller, lower level bureaus into larger, broader ones. In response to this a verbal argument broke out between council head Corwyn Lekeaba and Syenter, the two refused to speak to each-other following the disagreement, with the plan of restructuring being quietly trashed.
early in the morning of 15-3 53 PC, news broke that Einru had taken over the Leyen Valley stockpile station, the largest armory and naval port outside of mainland Utlia, shortly after this, the group launched an attack on the East Ocean Territory, assaulting a number of Shote-Ut government buildings and occupying them, the province was declared lost that night during a radio speech given by Myrn. The assault was able to occur due to the sparsely populated ocean provinces low manpower, even lower due to the Luminary war. It is also alleged that Corwyn Lekeaba had been leaking secrets and supplies to Einru through her connections in the Bureau of Trade and Shipping, though evidence for this is shaky. To celebrate their victory, Einru communication head Reto Heyel penned and sent pamphlets to various nations describing their ideology and struggle, as well as asking for any support in their fight as the "True Utlian Nation."
The next morning, Syenter gave his own speech about the east ocean loss too a large crowd in Tinlea-Ut, during which he became irritated by a journalist asking a question about his strategy as president and began going off on the House of Light and Ire Liamia for the problems his administration was facing.

- Wlykalt Syenter 16-3 53 PC, Tinlea-Ut
The speech slightly improved his approval ratings among the rural Utlian population. Shortly after the speech was publicized, Modhes Temple responded by saying that it was not the fault of the HoL, but instead all on Akaria.
On 20-5 53 PC National Bank head Lodwyn Elsteay released a number of documents to journalists, the documents contained evidence of embezzlement from the Syenter campaign, Syenter did not comment on it but Myrn did, calling them "shoddily falsified"
Later that day, the Kiyr Committee voted on the decision to mobilize the paramilitary Arznyr forces for the first time since the Utlian revolution began in 10 TT, the goal being pre-emptive mainland peacekeeping among the turmoil facing Utlia. The vote passed 5-0.
Throughout the remainder of 53 PC, two attempts were made to retake the east ocean, both failed, the second of which, occurring on 23-8, became known as the Shote Defiling, the battle would see a National Army retreat following an Einru ambush in the cities port. During the retreat an order was given to launch artillery at Einru positions, including the Shote-Ut Hall of Governance and its surrounding department buildings. While civilian causalities were low, controversy arose around the military destroying presumed historic buildings, as the Hall of Governance was the first permanent structure build in the East Ocean Territory following its declaration as an official province.
On 2-4 54 PC, Einru launched their mainland invasion on the southern tip of Utlia, swiftly occupying Mesyetet and defeating the small National Defense lyets stationed there. Arznyr forced were mobilized around Unlaunen-Ut, where Einrus forces was assumed to be heading. The Arznyr troops stationed in Unlaunen were reported to be getting into skirmishes with the local national defense battalions. These small fights escalated after an Arznyr supply truck driver was fatally shot by a national defense officer while entering the city. The UND officer was put to military trial, his case was defended on the grounds that the Arznyr do not wear distinctive enough markings for guards to be able to tell the difference between spies and allies. The man was acquitted and put on leave in Surpa-Ut.
Following a COUR meeting the day after the acquittal, the Azz'marin declared itself independent from COUR and Republic governance. The religious order stated that they would continue peacekeeping and fighting but no longer were loyal to the Syenter-led republic.
About halfway between Unlaunen and Mesyetet, in the town of Uebnat-Ut, a bloody battle begins between the Arznyr, National Army, and Einru on 8-4 54 PC. The battle saw the three factions engaging in the narrow and cramped urban center of the town. The first actions in the battle are credited to Einru marksmen, who had arrived earlier in the day, taking watchtower and rooftop positions, the snipers launched a surprise attack on the approaching UND Lyet, who believed they had arrived to the town first. Once the UND had arrived and taken defensive positions, they were attacked from the rear by an Arznyr lyet. The three armies battled for a week before a supply shortage caused the UND to strategically retreat. Following the reteat, Arznyr and Einru forces signed a truce agreement, jointly occupying the city. The battle of Uebnat is credited with the highest amount of ammo expended outside of Unlaunen throughout the entire war.
On 18-5 54 PC, a meeting is held between Einru leadership, the WATC and Deysachins Modhes Temple. The two formal governments agree to covertly support the terrorist group in the civil war with the WATC supplying the group with ships, food and medical supplies in consistent shipments and the Modhes Temple sending shipbuilding materials to Einru. On 24-5 of the same year, Einru leadership and the Kiyr Committee would secretly meet and form an alliance.
