Lakar
The Lakar are a Kadrike of Akaria.
History
Joining the Akarinian Confederation
The Lakar joined the Akarinian Confederation on 27-3 1755 TT after a visit by Kadar's wife Harmain and their grandson Gotiph.
Marauder Crisis
The Lakar began funding Komur Lakar's Komur Feyak on 14-10 1514 TT in an attempt to capitalise on the Marauder Crisis. In exchange, the Komur Feyak protected the Lakar from other Feyaks. Skrasken was burned on 11-6 1514 TT. Fearing the same fate befalling Lasken and that the Komur Feyak would not be enough, Leader of the Lakar, Balakar Lakar asked his Weer advisor, Goranteer Alandoro to ask the Weer Nation to provide defence for the city. The Weer Army arrived Lasken on 17-7 and signed a protection agreement with Balakar.
Komur retired on 24-12 1474 TT and was replaced by Temur Bokok. The Komur Feyak arrived in the outskirts of Lasken on 1-5 1473 TT. They were let into the city on the advice of the Weer Advisor to the Lakar, Goranteer Alandoro. Once in the city they overthrew the Leader of the Lakar, Okal Lakar and replaced him with Komur's son Bekar. After the takeover the Weer Nation began providing the Komur Feyak with supplies. On 16-5 of the same year, the Komur Feyak seized Bar. On 26-5 1473, before an invasion of the Garvak could be carried out Matok Garvak pledged his allegiance to the Komur Feyok and sent a large portion of his army to join them. On 28-9, 1471 TT Temur's forces including the Lakar's army advanced into the Deram lands and reached the Tumak Ordok on 7-10 1471 TT. Temur confronted Living King Bark Dar in the Tumak Ordok and challenged him for his leadership of the Dar under the right of blood. Temur easily defeated and killed the elderly Dar and declared himself Leader of the Dar as Temur Bokok and Dar. Shortly after the three ossbosches with him declared him Living King. After the takeover, the Lakar joined the newly created 1st Bar Perikat.
1st Bar Perikat
Sayaph Lakar became Living King on 19-4 1422 TT after Goghon Perat was assassinated during the Siege of Mida. At the time Akaria was fighting Goghon's War against the Andu Kur and during his reign Goghon had personally led the Living Army and been killed in action because of it. Sayaph did not do this and instead made the village of Brinor into a sort of front-line capital. He put his former underling Dakarkon Deram in charge of the Living Army. On 8-1, 1419 TT Sayaph issued both his 6th and 7th dictates. The 6th dictate ended Goghon's War and annexed the occupied portions of the Andu Kur into the Akarinian Confederation. His 7th dictate ordered a continuous series of population transfers of Karinians to Akaria and Andu to the Andu Kur. On 14-1 1419 TT a group of recently evicted Andu stormed Brinor Hall and killed Sayaph Lakar.
The 1st Bar Perikat ended on 15-1 1419 TT when Dakarkon Deram declared himself Living King.
1st Bosken Perikat
Amkar Bokok was elected Living King on 21-8 2273 TT and formed the 1st Bosken Perikat with the Perat, Skrake and Lakar.
On 13-10 1120 TT, Living King Garikoph Perat announced that his son-in-law Umanay Deram would be his second in command during the upcoming invasion of the Andu Kur. Both Kubutai, Leader of the Bokok and Haranko, Leader of the Lakar, criticised Garikoph for putting a Deram into a position they thought should have been reserved for a member of their perikat. Garikoph's death on 9-12 1163 TT triggered the 4th Living Election. The 1st Bosken Perikat recommended Boikokok Lakar as the next Living King, However, Hotak Boloi, Ossbosche of the Bojin suggested that Garikoph had been preparing Umanay to succeed him. Though most of the electors did not believe Hotak's theory they recognised that Umanay, as High Director of the Living Army, might try to overthrow whoever they elected. His popularity would ensure that the Living Army followed his word. Umanay was elected Living King on 6-5 1103 TT.
Attempts to kill Umanay Deram
Despite becoming the Living King Umanay still consulted with the former ruling perikat. Despite this Boikokok attempted to have Umanay assassinated. On 10-9, 1099 TT whilst addressing a crowd in Wayok Park, someone fired at Umanay with a handheld omtarre cannon. The primary fire stream missed Umanay and engulfed the raised platform from which Umanay had been speaking. The crowd fell into chaos allowing the culprit to escape. Umanay survived the attack unharmed, though many had been trampled during the panic. On 27-9 1098 TT whilst attending a dinner in Todak, Parikok Lakar told Umanay that his brother Boikokok, Leader of the Lakar had ordered his death. Umanay ordered the Combkar Tower searched and found a barrel containing omtarre residue with the same composition as residue found in Wayok Park. Boikokok was arrested on 12-10 1098 TT and executed the following day. Parikok replaced his brother as the Leader of the Lakar.
On 18-2 1096 TT whilst walking to his carriage Umanay was ambushed by an assassin whom Umanay managed to subdue. At the same time, Parikot Lakar was thrown to his death from the top of the Combkar Tower. The man who attacked Umanay was revealed to have been Otok Bokok, son of Tobutai, who was subsequently arrested. Both Otok and Tobutai were executed on 28-2 1096 TT.
5th Durantum Perikat
During the reign of Living King Khurel Kakay, the former members of the 4th Durantum Perikat –the Bokok, Deram and Perat–created a new alliance between themselves and the Dar, Garvak and Lakar. Khurel's death on 15-2 602 TT triggered the 21st Living Election where, on 18-3 Arikarin Deram was elected Living King, establishing the 5th Durantum Perikat.
At the start of the Able War on 29-10 594 TT the Lakar supported the Deram in their war against the Anti-Durantum League, but were unenthused about fighting a war they thought could have been avoided. On 1-7 593 TT Arikarin's 481st Dictate was issued ordering all Kadrike armies to become subservient to the Living Army. The Dictate angered the Lakar and Arikarin's other allies and gave them an excuse to defect to the League doing so on 5-7. The League breached the Tumak Ordok on 26-2 591 TT. During the battle for the Ordok, Arikarin was killed with his remaining forces surrendering soon after.
Makaro Arkara's election as Living King on 28-4 591 TT ended the 5th Durantum Perikat.
1st Lasken Perikat
On 13-6 467 TT the Oceanic Council announced that the majority of their iron mines had begun to deplete and were expected to be completely out of iron within the next decade. On 11-11 502 TT Leader of the Lakar, Vichatoi Lakar asked Living King Oirula Dakon to make an agreement between the Kingdom of Akaria and the Deram, who lived in the iron-rich Thessda Range. Oirula rejected this proposal because the ruling 2nd Agrada Perikat was not on good terms with the Deram. Oirula died on 19-7 460 TT triggering the 26th Living Election. During the election, the ossbosches loyal to the Banokan, Bokok, Dar and Lakar supported Vichatoi candidate –his brother Klaichandoi– as the next Living King. The Arkara's ossbosches who were expected to support the 2nd Agrada Perikat's candidate instead supported Klaichandoi, who was formally elected Living King on 16-8 460 TT.
Negotiations between Klaichandoi and the Deram were slow, partly due to the Deram's refusal to meet Klaichandoi in Ablesken with negotiations being carried out in the Mikare city of Mida. A deal was struck between Klaichandoi and the Deram on 13-8 454 TT resulting in five living dictates being issued. The 1st re-established the Deram Kadrike and defined it as taking up around a third of the Thessda Range. The 2nd granted the Deram Kadrike funds to expand the Andu Wall to go around their Kadrike and to remove any remaining Andu from the Kadrike. The 3rd established the Andorka, Goaphe, Karedone and Wyak ossletes within the new Deram Kadrike and permitted them to be run wholly by the Deram for the next one-hundred years. The 4th ordered the Mikare and Perat to act as mediators for the Kingdom of Akaria regarding trade with the Deram. The 5th established a trade deal in which Deram-mined minerals were to be traded to the Weer for Weer-made weapons.
Gutakut Lakar was elected Living King on 12-2 316 TT.
Kadan Lakar was elected Living King on 28-10 227 TT.
The 1st Lasken Perikat ended on 15-3 143 TT with the election of Bantu Arkara.
