History

Pre-Kadar

From around 2000 TT to 1800 TT the Oken led the Okenarian Confederation who controlled the southern Karin Plain with allies in the northern plain. The confederation was torn apart by the Andu Invasion of Karinia of 1800 TT.

Kadar

Kadar met with Amoka, Leader of the Oken on 3-7 1792 TT. He had come to request the Oken's aid in his upcoming war against the Andu Kur. Amoka declined, claiming that if they were to go to war with the Andu so soon after their last defeat to them they'd be wiped out. Amoka's son Chalatun supported and made allies with Kadar, bringing with him many of the Oken's warriors who wished for revenge against the Andu. Amoka expelled Chalatun who founded the Banokan to counteract this.

Karinian Confederation

The Oken joined the Akarinian Confederation on 17-31 1721 TT under the leadership of Komeok. The condition for joining was that Kameok's daughter Malain would marry Gotiph, Leader of the Akarinian Confederation and all the sons she gave birth to would be a part of the Oken.

Oksken Perikat

On 13-7 4 TT, Living King Bantar Arkara was assassinated triggering the 42nd Living Election. There was much debate within the Ossbosche Assembly as to who to replace Bantar with. The once-esteemed Arkara had assassinated many, whereas the other major group, the Perat and their allies, were suspected to have been behind the assassination of Bantar. On 30-10 2 TT the Ossbosche Assembly named Harakar Oken Living King because the Oken were unaffiliated with either side. This began the Oksken Perikat.

Under Artak

Living King Artak Arkara removed Kuzakar Oken as the High Director of the Akarian Trade Fleet on 16-5 20 PC, claiming that Kuzakar was too busy leading the Oken to handle leading the trade fleet. He was replaced with Artak's son Koyok Arkara. The new high director was ordered to "find out exactly what the Akarian Trade Fleet does". On 30-5 an internal investigation found that the Akarian Trade Fleet's primary function was to provide the Oken with free shipping for their enterprises at the national government's expense. Artak issued his 3rd Dictate on 18-6 to attempt to curb the Oken's usage of the trade fleet for their own gain. The Dictate nationalised numerous Oken assets which had been identified by Koyok Arkara as essential to the operation of the Akarian Trade Fleet. In response to this dictate many Oken resigned from government positions across Akaria.

The son of late Living King and Leader of the Oken Harakar Oken, Dakar Oken announced over the radio, on 1-1 22 PC that Kuzakar Oken's election as the Leader of the Oken was illegitimate and announced the beginning of an "operation" to have the Oken Kadrike placed under his control. Moments later men loyal to Dakar carried out multiple attacks across the Oken Kadrike, an attack in the Sartak Kadrike and an attack in Niueyjar on Dakar's orders, starting Dakar's Uprising. By the end of the day Dakar's forces had shot the Ossbosche of Okenate, Havking Oken (who would later die from his wounds), freed Ahabakar Oken from the Clan Osteg Prison Complex (who would go on to kill Trikot Perat in the Eastern Ocean), killed Leader of the Sartak, Bantoek Sartak and captured the Okenate Ordok. Kuzakar ordered the Oken Army into the Greater Oksken Area to put down "Dakar's Uprising". High Director of the Oken Army, Kazaint Oken, pledged allegiance to Dakar Oken causing the Oken Army to start fighting itself across the Oken Kadrike. The next day Kuzakar appointed Duzakar Oken as the new High Director of the Oken Army with Kazaint still claiming the title. Kuzakar met with Mal Ignis on 12-9 and convinced him to intervene against Dakar Oken. Mal's forces arrived on 14-9 and aided in Moss Vale's recapture on 16-9. Dakar's Uprising ended on 17-1 23 PC when Kuzakar and his allies captured Dakar and the remainder of the Greater Oksken Area.

On 27-1 23 PC the Perat asked the Oken to hand over Dakar for trial over the death of Trikot Perat who had been executed by Ahabakar Oken after he attacked Paradise Island on 30-3 22 PC. Kuzakar declined the request citing the need to first try him in the Oken Court. Several members of the Perat were arrested in the Oken Kadrike on after attempting to use falsified documents to transfer Dakar into Perat custody. Kuzakar released the arrested members shortly after to avoid escalating the situation.

Leader of the Perat, Eltok Perat formally requested Artak's intervention in getting the Oken to hand over Dakar Oken to the Perat on 19-2. On the same day, Kuzakar countered by requesting Artak not to intervene in the Dakar Dispute between the Oken and the Perat.

Artak did not side with either party directly and instead began "Brown walking" in an attempt to ask the Kings in Brown for advice on what to do regarding the Dakar Dispute. Artak had done this without telling anyone and the Living Press first reported that he had done this on 1-3. Artak awoke from his coma on 10-3 and the next day announced that the Kings in Brown advised him to declare Dakar Oken an "Aide to the Spirits" –a term first used in this announcement by Artak– and to execute him before all the Kadrike leaders and ossbosches of Akaria and lands beyond. Following the announcement Artak's 10th Dictate was issued. The Dictate defined what an Aide to the Spirits was, granted the Living King the right to brand someone an Aide to the Spirits, allowed the Living King to personally execute an Aide to the Spirits if the Council of Akaria is summoned before him and are given sufficient time to arrive and allowed the Living King to summon the Council of Akaria for an execution. After the Dictate was issued Artak branded Dakar Oken an Aide to the Spirits and summoned the Council of Akaria to Ablesken for his execution, which was done on 8-4, ending the Dakar Dispute. Dakar's execution was seen by many of the Oken as a failure on Kuzakar's part to protect their people.

Trade deals

On 23-4 1 PC the Oken began sending gunpowder and hydrochloric acid to the Republic of Utlia in exchange for coal.
