Vir Alo is a city in T'vaqi. It has the highest median wealth per citizen of any settlement on the island. It is also by far the densest concentration of Magisters in the nation.

History

Vir Alo was established in 239 TT, shortly after the Second Unification of T'vaqi. Its name, meaning "great agency", was chosen to represent its intended purpose as a housing and office district for those associated with the many corporations that had risen to power in the past century. Several prominent companies relocated their headquarters to Vir Alo, attracting wealthy families, who in turn raised the city's median income further. By 200 TT, Vir Alo had become almost exclusively populated by the upper echelon of T'vaqi society, including an approximate third of its Magisters. This disproportionate concentration of wealth in a relatively small area led to increased wealth inequality across T'vaqi.

Over decades, the city of Vir Alo developed into a social enclave, as citizens within Vir Alo distanced themselves from the rest of the nation (and vice versa). Commonly, rich characters in literature and film display certain stereotypes associated with Virali citizens, even if their city of origin is irrelevant.

Emblem

The emblem of Vir Alo features an eight-pointed star in the center, intersected by a diagonal arrow pointing northeast. There is very little symbolism behind these design choices.
