Vir Atlii or Vyr Atley (formerly Shomivit) is a port city in T'vaqi co-owned by both the Nation of T'vaqi and the Republic of Utlia. The settlement was acquired by Utlia as a condition of the Tricade War peace treaty.

History

The city now known as Vir Atlii was originally founded as the town of Shomivit in 33 PC, a few years after the T'vaqi Grand Calming. The settlement's name was a shortening of Sho Mivititona (Half Port), as original plans for its construction were said to allocate one half of its area to a port. Intended as an outpost for cartographic expeditions, it became the site of the largest port in T'vaqi at the time, though by the time of the town's construction the national fervor caused by the Calming had largely subsided. The populace was instead fearful towards the wider archipelago, and Shomivit's port was rarely used for its original purpose; instead, it became a somewhat popular tourist destination for its exceptionally blue waters and distant views of other islands, which tourists could experience on boats through telescopes. Shomivit briefly changed its motto to "The T'vaqi Telescope", though this was abandoned after it was realized that the native word for telescope (pispinio) carried phallic connotations.

In 67 PC, an Utlian Amphibious Forces troop made landfall in the Shomivit area. No major battle or conflict occurred during the city's occupation, though some deaths and injuries of unclear nature were reported. Shomivit remained unofficially occupied by Utlia until the Lambent Concordat treaty granted the Republic partial ownership of the settlement. The city was renamed Vir Atlii for its relative proximity to Vir Alo and newfound Utlian co-ownership. Utlia controls and oversees all trade within the confines of Vir Atlii; the city legally belongs to T'vaqi, and T'vaqi law remains in effect.

In 81 PC, Gmr. T'tathos Mhodir suggested to the city Maasyl that a Cyals stadium be constructed in Vir Atlii. The proposal was accepted, and construction began on Thipoqo Stadium, which was completed three years later. During the construction of the stadium, an official Cyals club named To Qima was assembled in the city and incorporated into CieLeague.

Emblem

The emblem of Vir Atlii depicts Azzta's Favor, with text on either side displaying the name of the city in both T'vaqi and Utyis. Cradled within the central symbol is a small eight-pointed star, which rests below an Utlian Mor Crab. Many native residents of the city prior to its occupation have expressed disdain for a perceived over-emphasis placed on Utlian symbology in the new emblem.
